Two fans, one serviceable filter, no shortcuts. The Extractor Twin™ puts a pair of IP67-rated Noctua industrial fans into a single glass fibre reinforced housing, giving large canopies, vans and caravans the airflow of two premium fans together with the easy-service filter that made The Extractor™ our top-end vent.

Where a single fan starts to struggle — long trays, high-roof canopies, caravan boots packed with a fridge, batteries and gear — the Twin moves twice the fan capacity through one clean, sealed install.

Like every powered Ventit3D™ vent, the Twin is designed to exhaust. Give it an intake low on the opposite side — The Original™ works well — and the two together set up a steady cross-flow through the whole space.

What makes the Twin premium

  • Two industrial Noctua fans — a matched pair of NF-F12 industrialPPC-2000 IP67 fans, each rated at 2000 RPM and 121.8 m³/h, with Noctua's MTTF rating of more than 150,000 hours. Sealed against water and dust and built for continuous duty
  • One big, washable filter — a single 10 mm, 45 PPI Unifilter polyurethane foam spans both fans and is clamped on every side, so dust has nowhere to slip past. Rinse it out or swap it for a new one
  • Stainless where it matters — two stainless steel fan guards and stainless fixings throughout, for salt air, wet seasons and years of use
  • Four-bolt filter access — release four M6 cap heads, lift the hinged fan box, service the foam and close it again. The vent itself never leaves the panel
  • Built heavier — thicker walls, denser infill and a wider print nozzle for stronger layer bonding across the larger housing

At a glance

  • Three settings — run constantly, let the adjustable thermostat decide, or switch off to save battery
  • Plugs straight in — 5.5 x 2.1 mm DC jack, with a right-angle connector in the box
  • Slim outside — the outer housing stands just 42 mm off the panel at its tallest and tapers toward the top
  • Louvres angled down to shed rain and road dust instead of catching it
  • ASA-Glass Fibre outside for UV and heat resistance, ABS-Glass Fibre fan box inside for toughness
  • Black only for now
  • Designed and made in Australia, shipped free Australia-wide

Inside the Twin

Three parts make up the Twin. On the outside, a low louvred housing. Through the panel, the Inner to Outer Vent Mount, which bolts to the outer housing and seals the opening. Inside, the fan box: both Noctua fans sit side by side behind their stainless guards, with the controller tucked away in its own compartment under a snap-fit lid.

Air is pulled from the canopy, through the foam, across both fans and out through the downward louvres. When the fans stop, the foam stays put as a barrier against fine dust.

A hinge along the top of the mount locates the fan box, and four M6 cap head bolts pull it down tight, squeezing the filter evenly around its edge.

Choose always on, temperature activated or off on the built-in switch. In temperature mode the thermostat starts both fans as the space heats up and stops them again as it cools.

Is the Twin right for your build?

  • Big spaces — dual-cab canopies with high lids, van fit-outs, caravan front boxes and storage tunnels
  • Heat-heavy loads — fridges, lithium batteries, inverters and DC-DC chargers all adding heat at once
  • Dusty country — corrugations and bulldust, where a filter you can actually service is worth having
  • Harsh climates — coastal, tropical or inland heat, where IP67 fans and stainless parts last longer

Running a standard-size canopy? The single-fan Extractor is usually all you need.

In the box

  • Fan box with both Noctua IP67 fans, stainless guards, three-way switch and thermostat fitted
  • Inner to Outer Vent Mount, with built-in hinge
  • Louvred outer vent housing
  • 10 mm Uni foam filter, cut to size
  • Right-angle DC power connector
  • 8 x M5 stainless button head bolts for the panel
  • 4 x M6 stainless cap head bolts for the fan box
  • 2 x 1:1 drilling templates — Inner Mount (recommended) and Outer Vent
  • Installation and filter change guide

Fitting the Twin

Start with the Inner Mount template on the inside of the panel — it lets you see frame rails and bracing before you drill. Prefer to work from outside? The Outer Vent template marks exactly the same holes. Drill the eight 5 mm holes, then cut the two main openings: a 114 mm hole saw for each, then trim the corners out to the 120 x 120 mm R37 shape marked on the template.

  1. Run sealant around the mating face of the outer housing.
  2. Offer the outer housing up to the outside of the panel with the louvres pointing down. Fitted upside down, it will let water in.
  3. Inside, run a bead of sealant around the opening on the panel face of the Inner to Outer Vent Mount and dab each bolt hole, then pull the mount and outer housing together with the eight M5 button heads.
  4. Seat the filter.
  5. Hook the fan box onto the hinge at a slight angle, swing it down and fasten the four M6 cap heads — snug, not overtight. A drop of low-strength Loctite helps.

Connect 12V through the DC jack and protect the circuit with a 5 A fuse, as you would any canopy accessory. Full instructions come in the box.

Servicing the filter

Four bolts and you're in. Remove the M6 cap heads, swing the fan box up on its hinge, then wash the foam or fit a new one. Close it up, refit the bolts and you're done — the seal on the panel is never disturbed.

Check it more often after dusty trips. Replacement Uni filters are coming soon.

Pairs well with

  • The Original — passive intake pair that completes the cross-flow
  • Replacement Uni filter (coming soon) — a spare for long trips
  • Dual Cable Inlet — sealed entry point for the 12V feed

Important to note

IP67 is Noctua's rating for the fans, not a rating for the complete vent, which has not been independently tested. Any opening cut into a canopy, caravan or structure can leak if it is not installed and sealed correctly, is submerged, or is hit with high-pressure water such as a pressure washer or car wash. Correct installation, sealing and regular checks for wear, damage and seal condition are the installer's responsibility.

Frequently asked questions

How is the Twin different from The Extractor?

The Twin carries two Noctua IP67 fans instead of one, in a larger housing with one larger Uni filter, and its fan box is held by four M6 bolts rather than two. The fans, stainless guards, three-way control and materials are the same.

Should I choose the Twin or the Dual 120mm?

Choose the Twin for industrial IP67 fans, stainless steel guards and a filter you can wash or replace in minutes. Choose the Dual 120mm if you want variable fan speed and a fixed 30°C trigger with standard fans.

Does the Twin move twice as much air as The Extractor?

It has twice the fan capacity — two of the same Noctua fans, each rated at 121.8 m³/h in free air. Real-world airflow depends on the filter, your intake and the space, but the Twin will turn over a large canopy, van or caravan much faster than a single fan.

Is the Twin IP67 rated?

The fans are — Noctua rates them IP67 for water and dust. The complete vent has not been independently tested, so careful installation and sealing still matter.

How do I service the filter?

Remove the four M6 cap heads, tilt the fan box up on its hinge, and wash or replace the foam. How often depends on your conditions — dusty roads mean more frequent checks. Replacement filters are coming soon.

What fuse does the Twin need?

A 5 A fuse, the same as The Extractor. As with any 12V accessory in a canopy or caravan, always fuse the circuit.

Does the Twin need a bigger hole than The Extractor?

Yes. The Twin needs two of The Extractor's 120 x 120 mm R37 openings side by side, each started with a 114 mm hole saw and trimmed at the corners, plus eight 5 mm fixing holes instead of seven. Both 1:1 drilling templates are supplied in the box.
