Single 120mm 12V Powered Ute Canopy Vent

The Single 120mm 12V Powered Canopy Vent is a purpose-built, filtered powered exhaust vent for the rear of a 4x4 canopy — and just as at home in a caravan, camper trailer or van. Not a fan bolted onto a hole — a two-part housing, designed as one assembly, that pulls hot stagnant air out while keeping dust and water from coming back in.

How it works

The assembly is in two parts. The fan housing mounts inside and carries the 120 mm fan, the filtration and the control electronics. The outer housing sits on the outside of the panel and stays flush and low-profile.

The fan draws air out, through the filter, and pushes it out through the outer housing. Because the outer housing's louvres face downward, water running down the panel and dust thrown up off the road are far less likely to be driven into the opening than they would be with forward or side-facing holes.

Set the switch to always on for constant extraction, or to temperature activated and the adjustable thermostat will cycle the fan as things heat and cool. Switch it off entirely when you are parked up and want to protect the battery.

Single or Dual?

The Single suits most ute canopies and caravan storage areas, and is the right starting point for a standard build. Step up to the Dual 120mm if you have a long or high canopy, a larger van or caravan, a particularly heat-loaded setup, or you want variable fan speed rather than simple on-off cycling. The Dual needs two cutouts instead of one.

Fitting

One 105–108 mm round cutout and six 5 mm bolt holes, so either a 105 mm or a 108 mm hole saw will do. Mount the fan housing inside and the outer housing outside, with the louvres facing downward — fitting the outer housing the wrong way up will let water in.

Power is plug and play through the DC jack. As with every electrical component in a canopy or caravan, fuse it — we recommend a 5 A fuse. A full installation and temperature adjustment guide is included in the box.
